Welcome to McCormick Family Vineyards, and MEMALOOSE, Wines of the Wind.
Ours is a family-owned vineyard and winery business, offering wines exclusively from the Columbia River Gorge (AVA). Most of our grapes are grown in our own organic vineyards, with some coming from other outstanding local vineyards that we co-manage. Sites are on both the Oregon and Washington sides of the Columbia River. We source grapes in each of the key Gorge microclimates, from many elevations and soil types, all within this totally unique AVA.
"MEMALOOSE" is our first label. It consists of sveral blends, using many of the 20 varieties we grow or source. Our new label is "MAESTRALE", a group of wines that allows us to innovate and explore the exciting potential of the Columbia Gorge AVA.
Winemaker, Brian McCormick, works passionately to conserve the specific character of the fruit in each wine, determined that the vineyard, the grape variety and the particular season of harvest be reflected in each glass. We seek intensity without the excessive alcohol of over-ripe fruit, and we downplay the influence of our oak barrels. Above all we bottle wines that will complement food, as they showcase the diverse potential of this spectacular region. We aim to capture the essence of the spectacular Columbia Gorge.
The Tasting Room at Mistral Ranch hangs over the Lyle Bench, perched above the Columbia River, facing Mt. Hood and the vast expanse of the AVA. The view is second only to the wine.

DIRECTIONS: From Highway 14 (Washington), 1/4 mile west of Lyle, Washington, take Old Highway 8 north 1.1 mile to Canyon Road. Turn right and proceed 0.4 mile until Lyle-Snowden Rd. Turn left and drive 1.4 miles to Murdock Rd. (a gravel road on the left). Turn left and then take an immediate left into the property. Winery is back 1/2 mile.
